Flown by pilot Eddie Smith, this ultralight (trike / microlights) is based just 30 minutes outside town  and easily accessible for flights. Seating 1 guest plus pilot.

Remote Temples & Historic Locations

1 day VIP Koh Ker and Beng Melea  Temples.  Koh Ker , the ancient 10-century capital of the Khmer Empire, over 150 kms away, deep in the jungle. This complex contains over 118 temples. Excellent new flat road makes for very easy traveling. Extensive tour of the main pyramid temple,  Lingapura, the city of the Lingas,  the Elephant temple and Past Chen. Lunch in Hidden Cambodia Eco lodge , a traditional stilted house overlooking Koh Ker's main temple . Return to  tour Beng Melea, hunting lodge of Angkor Wat  on the way back.                                                                                                              1 day 4WD Preah Vihear - The Temple in the Sky. There are no words  describe this temple complex and not enough space to detail its history. Located on a cliff, on mountain, this complex has  consecutive temples, built over the ninth to the 12 century,  that lead to a final ledge and commands stunning views -  a temple for the Gods. Awarded UNESCO heritage site this year, Preah Vihear continues to draw those interested in seeing one of the jewels of Cambodia. Having brought guests here since 2000, we continue to do so now  and follow developments there through our extensive contacts on the mountain and the area on a daily basis. Road conditions have improved greatly and a one day trip from Siem Reap is ideal for those determined but short of time. Rounds trip:400 kms.                  i

                                                                                                             1 day 4WD Historic Anlong Veng - last strong of the Khmer Rouge and location of Pol Pots house and cremation spot. The road is pure black top and in perfect repair and this makes a very interesting and comfortable one day trip. Travel north 120kms through beautiful forested countryside to Anlong Veng and the Dangrek Mountains, a mountain range that runs all the way to Preah Vihear  and acts as a natural border with Thailand. We visit Ta Mok's flooded forest and Villa, now a museum,  followed by a tasty lunch before driving up the escarpment, just 16 kms outside town. Pol Pot lived here and died in his jungle hideout in April 18, 1998. Two weeks later the KR fell. We visit the remains of his house, bunker, his trial location and cremation site. We stop at the site of the former KR Radio station, once

 monitored by the BBC, a beautiful location with stunning views of the surrounding countryside. Brother No 4 has nor a stunning burial monument behind the time  Our specialized guides can offer an insight like no other with a full overview of the KR period and the role of this historic location as the last stronghold of the Khmer Rouge.

"Getting it all in"  - Banteay Serai, Kulen Mountain and Beng Melea Temple. A long eventful day with an early start but ideal for those short on time and want  to put in the kms and time to cover all these three in one day.

Head out of Siem Reap and travel through pretty villages and across ancient and long dry reservoirs to visit the finely carved temple of Banteay Srei.  Continue to the sacred Kulen Mountains and admire the waterfalls, where you might want to go for a swim and seek relief from the lowland heat.

                                                                                                         VIP Combo - Beng Melea Temple  & Kampong Khleang Fishing Community and floating village Combo. Ancient land and sparkling water. Thought to have been the prototype for Angkor Wat, Beng Melea is an early 11th century jungle temple. Just what you imagined you’d find in Cambodia!  Enjoy a tasty lunch at the temple and  if time, a quick visit to one or  two more hidden away temples. Follow on to Kampong Khleang, an exciting stilted commercial fishing village and community located on the Tonle Sap. Travel by motorboat through the village and out then to the edge to of the Tonle Sap. Visit their market, school & wat surrounded by water, small waterways between houses,  and their own food production practices.

See around the fishing community to see the local way of life, and their houses. VIP full or half day - Kampong Khleang Fishing Community Eco Tourism Tour. A commercial fishing community deep in the Tonle Sap Lake -  truly the Hidden Cambodia. No other tourists. 8.00 am depart: Travel by road about 35 kms south and turn on to a dirt road that leads to the edge of the lake.  Board a motorboat to Kampong Khleang, meaning the village of the stilts, a lively commercial fishing village located south on the edge of the Tonle Sap lake.  All houses are stilted and some are up to four & five meters tall. Enter the stilted village, now flooded and travel through this large town through to a more separate Vietnamese village on to the edge of the Tonle Sap.

Here we stop to look at the houses, the floating gardens, the small shops, the array of animals and dogs that live on houseboats etc. Further out we visit those actively fishing shrimps and other fish using an assortment of hand held and larger fish traps. Lunch on a boat house in the Vietnamese fishing village where this family repair nets for living and have their own fish farm. They have a very comfortable house with a toilet and we take a small portion of their decking to lay a mat and have lunch.  Back through the many waterways to visit the main central part of Kampong Kleng, the floating village, the interesting house of our boat driver, see a river back street from his balcony, the neighborhood and his wife’s rural kitchen. Back on the boat and out again to visit the local wat, market and school, located on an island in the middle of the town! Some interesting murals honor Buda and it may be possible to get a blessing by local monks, for a small donation to the wat. Often requested by guests so that they can hear the chanting! Our last stop is a prominent family’s beautiful wood house, a home and commercial location to see their crocodile business and to avail of their pristine tiled toilets! We also support a woman's small community initiative in Tnoal Dach community fishery where they produce handicrafts,  including wonderful hammocks,  from water hyacinth. Round trip: 100 kms.

Magic. Just what you expected to find in Cambodia. Once the hunting lodge of Angkor Wat. Delicious Cambodian  lunch at the temple. Onwards to  a remote large stone carving in a bamboo forest at the base of Kulen Mountain depicting Visna and his wife. Rarely visited by guests and a location for some of our humanitarian projects. Smaller stops at Hidden Cambodia locations on the way back at guest requests - a monastery to see detailed painting or a stop a local village market to see local produce. Round trip: 160 kms  Stop by the Rolous group of temples on the return journey (Guests must have Angkor pass)

VIP 4WD day combo trip to Kulen Mountain & Beng Melea Temple  Over 155 kms of a loop by 4WD & a wonderful combo.  Travel north on the road to Banteay Serai and turn west to face the ascent  to Kulen Mountain,  where  Jayavaraman II proclaimed himself a “God King”  in 802 and established the first linga cult.  Take in the carved riverbed & waterfall (said to cure all ills), the ancient monastery, the herbal remedies sold by villagers, the massive reclining Buda… the peace and quiet of the mountain. Continue to the ancient Beng Melea temple with its hanging ferns, butterflies, galleries and few other guests. Lunch is packed or at a local restaurant. Time allowing, enjoy a short visit to a tiny remote forgotten temple before we return to Siem Reap.

Humanitarian Day Tours

VIP Koh Ker and Beng Meela Day Tours  Participate is our water filter  and sleeping mat program operating 60 - 160ms away  in the Beng Meela and Koh Ker area - over 180 have been delivered to date,  donated and distributed by Hidden Cambodia guests  ...New guests assist with the distribution ..they still have to be delivered. This is where you can really help!

From $30 per person. .                                                                                                      Enjoy a guided tour of a Children's Center, an NGO supported by the EEC that houses over 30 children and welcomes 70 more from the surrounding area to attend daily. In their aims to be self-sufficient, they have an agriculture program which includes a number of farms with a market for organic vegetables. They also have a number of children’s programs such as traditional dance, sewing, English & General knowledge classes.

Tour of Angkor Children's Hospital  A Children' s hospital, a Japanese NGO,  welcomes over 300  little patients daily, with fantastic outreach programs,  progressive training programs for their Khmer staff and numerous overseas volunteers from the US and Europe. Blood donations always welcome.             

Volunteers and tours welcome to Children's Center run by Missionaries of Mercy (Mother Theresa Order) . Operating a nutrition and  feeding center, a Khmer and English school for resident and visiting children,  child rehab center for malnourished  children, a sanctuary for mothers nursing their children and an outreach program  to the poorest sectors of the community.
